Dick Butkus was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the first round of the
1965 NFL Draft. At 6’3” and 245 lbs, he was one of the most feared
linebackers in the league during his nine seasons with the Bears. He is
considered one of the best linebackers of all time. The 8-time Pro
Bowler was selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1979 and named
to the NFL 75th Anniversary All-Time Team in 2000.
Singletary was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 1981 NFL Draft.
During the mid-1980s, he was known as “The Heart of the Defense”. The
10-time Pro Bowler helped lead the Bears to win Super Bowl XX. He was
twice named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year and was inducted into
the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1998.
Brian Urlacher was
drafted by the Chicago Bears in the first round of the 2000 NFL Draft.
He finished his first season leading the Bears with 124 tackles and 8
sacks, earned his 1st Pro Bowl selection, and was named the NFL
Defensive Rookie of the Year. His playing style and reputation quickly
made him a fan favorite. The 8-time Pro Bowler was named the NFL
Defensive Player of the Year in 2005. Urlacher holds numerous franchise
records, including career tackles with 1,691. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.
